Actually it is even better if you trap him where he is spawned.
If you want to harvest, plow and plant faster, delete the plot where your farmer is found when you start farmville. Block him in buy putting one bale of hay to the right, left, front and behind of him,then refresh your browser. He no longer will follow you around when you harvest,plow or plant. It is much quicker but turn the volume off as the animals go wild.
Double click when you harvest and it will auto plow the crop
