I had an external hard drive that failed. Here is my attempt to recover the data.

Update:
I bought the UDA (plus tool kit and case) all from MacSales.com
I have annotated my video with URLs that take you to the products.

Best of luck to everyone trying to recover your data, I hope you are as successful as I was.

  • TARDIS!

  • @dotchoo For my Time Machine back up, of course! :C)

  • Aawsome vid where did you buy this adapter need one A sap please help thanks man

  • @HEAVYGUNZ05 If you did not see in the video description or in the comments the Universal Drive Adapter (UDA) was purchased at Other World Computing (macsales dot com)

  • I don't know about pussy Mac, but in Windows, Device Manager comes in gandy. For Mac and Windows, you can go out there and buy yourself a popular hard drive software that'll do many useful things for you.

  • @1AppleMaker Device Manager can't be gangy [sic] if the external drive is not spinning up properly due to faulty power supply or other component in the case. The UDA I used to power/connect the bare hard drive will work with your Windows as well as in pussy Macs.

  • what do you do when your hard drive your trying to get data off of stops spinning after about 20 seconds?

  • I love that you have "TARDIS" listed.. lol

  • You can buy a used on on ebay probably, and just swap out the boards

  • @foundationgood You have to replace the control (circuit) board on the hard drive!

  • HEY I GOT THE SAME HARD DRIVE AS U!!!

  • @foundationgood Well the screws would have to come out, Do that in a clean room, and then you can do this and access any data left.

  • @errorikdotcom

Thats why. Dell is the worst computer company in the world. they can't get anything right. And apple aren't behind.
