Thank You Amtrak 98 Engineer Kissimmee Florida Train

A special thank you to the engineer who always gives us a few extra blows of his horn and waives. Thank you sir very much for going the extra step in making a little boy and his dad smile! Thank you Amtrak!

I try to take my son to see the "Big Choo Choo" a few times a week and especially on Saturday with the 98 Train coming from Miami to New York. I finally got the iPhone 4s and got the Amtrak app to check to see if the train is on time in order to avoid a two year old melt down.

I also use a program called http://www.dixielandsoftware.com that helps me to see when and where the other trains are and if they are on time. I would highly recommend this site for anyone who watches trains.

We go to a quite neighborhood where there is not a lot of traffic, when the train is near the crossing gates start to ding and lower and the train is coming from around a corner so we know when to get into position. My little one is in heaven and I will be honest I get a little choked up when I see the engineer make an extra effort to waive to us in his special way and you can hear the extra blows of his horn just for us. It's hard to beat this entertainment young or old, girl or boy.

No, I don't work for Amtrak but I wish they would do more advertising in our local area to let families know and how they make it easy to go on a fun vacation or get away via the train.
