  • do you need a midi controller?

  • @elixer6x6x6 No man, you can use automation to do it all!

  • Hey mate, thanks for tutorial, very handy. One small problem.... when i try to sidechain the sidechain button wont highlight yellow ie it isnt switching on. im stumped as to why this wont work as i sidechain basslines etc regularly with no problem.... any ideas. Im just trying to sidechain the kick on my drum track as you did in your video

hope you can help, thanks again mate

  • @djjonig That sounds very strange... If you own your copy of ableton contact them and they should fix it, otherwise maybe try rebuilding the noise sweep or try using a different synth with the compressor... its the same idea with any synth really.... Let me know how ya get on!

  • which application are u using to record this tutorial?

    thanx

  • @gstyle11 I used an application called screenflow.... its handy to use.....

  • i just got white noise... don't know what i did wrong?

  • Os-killator? :P

  • not sure how to get the frequency to undulate on its own :(

    help please

  • how do you EQ the lows and mids to clean the sweep? anyone?

  • Awesome vid.. I needed this for a remix i am trying to do and it was quick and helpful kudos sir!!!!!

  • @Hurtigman you can get Live to do it for you without having to move the mouse or touch a key. For any clip, audio or midi, just double click on it and bring up the envelopes section (it's the E just below the Clip window), and set your automation that way. You can also automate effects, synths etc. by going into the arrangement view and under the track title bar there will be a box that allows you to select the parameter you want to automate. Blue line and double click is your friend (:

  • I couldnt figure out how to group my audio effects and im on a mac :(

  • Good video man!

  • Hi, I followed carefully the advice, But when I tried to map the frequency, it didn't go into the Box on the left as it does on your video... I also found it didn't creat the same sort of sweep... Do I need a midi contoler for this? Thanks

  • Yo thank you so much for this video it has really helped me advance in my production :)
