You intro is moronic.

This is the perfect evolving example of why the Communication Utilities created the Residential NID/Demarc Point of Service.......Mr DIY'er, go ahead booger it up real good but we won't be out for free anymore
-
unplug the line going to the vonage before striping the wire if you don't like the little taste
-
@MrSpudman30 You're correct, however he did it that way because he wanted to use the only two existing jacks in his house for phones. If he used one to backfeed the line from his vonage box, it would have defeated the entire purpose. The way you suggest would be great if he had several jacks. What he should have done was remove the wall plate from one of those indoor jacks and wired it in that way.

go to the Network Interface Device (NID) box and ONLY disconnect the jack(s) ( no need to pull wires or unscrew them) that will isolate the house from the rest of the Plain old telephone service (POTS) no need run a wire out the window. now you can pick up the phone and hear no dial tone. Now connect your vonage device or other VOIP service to your phone jack.

awesome dude you are the best

lol.. ur hack... LMAO... its basic principal at the dpoint to just simply unplug it, add a coupler to the male and run that to your vonage! not hating good video though, just most ppl dont want to wire like this.. a coupler from the male to the telco, or a rj-11 cord with extension plug on the end would do wonders too.
@simbalage22 yea. It would have been easier. But my house actually had like 3 separate lines. Upstairs, downstairs, and guest room. So I couldnt just refeed it cause it would be just one room. Maybe on a newer home it would be easy. This ole house... lol

@MrSpudman30 yea that's if your house has only one line. I apparently had 3 after all said and done. So back feeding would be pointless, only for one room.

just buy a voip converter and plug it into your router... you can then plug your cordless phone into it .... simple

@stephendevlin well really you can get a 4+ line cordless and plug main into vonage, then the rest are just plugged into power... lol
but this is the manual way, and i thought it first. :-P
