TEETER TIME!
Session 1
Leda's growth plates are closed & she was spayed 3 weeks ago. To top it off her hips look excellent! w00t! Now that Leda is fully recovered from her spay our "big girl" agility training can officially BEGIN! Double w00t!
Just enough snow melted in my backyard for me to set up 2 tables & my teeter, yay! However, living in upstate NY I know better than to hope that winter has had its last "hoorah!". So I fear that our outdoor training will not be regular for another month.
I'm going the Two Table Teeter Training route, which I am alreday (after one day) having WAYYY too much fun with. My Ledalee girl is bold, fearless & FAST across the teeter board! I didn't even bother doing a 20" table as I knew Leda would not be bothered by the motion, boy was I RIGHT! SHE LOVES THE BANGING & THE SLAMMING!!! OMG this puppy is SOOOO fun! Poor Hermes took 6 months to do a teeter as he was terrified of the bang, luckily that is not a concern for my Ledaleeeeeeee!
I'm not asking her for a 2o2o YET, you'll see sometimes she puts herself into a 2o2o, I'm just making a big deal out of it. I'll start requesting the 2o2o later. We've been playing the "BANG GAME" since Leda was teenie-tiny & she has a solid 2o2o behavior trained so I'm looking forward to putting it all together soon!
In this 1st session I was VERY impressed that Leda went from the 16" to the 12" table in just a few reps. I'm just trying to vary my position (R & L) and also sending her ahead down the board.
NOTE: One of my "training errors" in this video is my tugging style. Notice I am tugging with Leda in an 'up & down' motion which makes her look uncomfortable on the teeter. This was a mistake I did not realize til I watched this & the next video back. I will try to tug with her LOWER in the future- better on her neck & spine! So don't make my mistake! :P
Thanks for watching Hob Nob Follow The Leda! =D

Do you have any videos of the bang game you played before this stage?

@klwycoff123, I don't think so.... I have some 'footage' of Leda playing on an itty-bitty teeter in her monthly puppy vids, that was the BEST foundation that I did. The bang game was really simple,, I just followed the steps in Jen Pinder's CR article "Terrific Teeters". :)

Thank you! I have used the 2 tables with some of my students dogs who have very slow teeters in order to help raise their confidence = speed! It works great as a re-train!

Thanks so much! Leda is a fearless little thing, which makes the teeter training a breeze (so far!).
