This magnificent solo recording of Geoff Goddard is from the legendary Jim Blake sessions, Reading, UK, summer 1974. SKY MEN is arguably the most beloved of all songs recorded by this great but sadly underrated popular composer. Written in 1963, its subject matter - peaceful alien brethren coming to help Mankind - was ahead of its time. Goddard maintained a serious interest in the subject of UFOs and advanced alien races for the remainder of his life. As we approach the 10th anniversary of Geoff's passing we would like to take this opportunity to honor him, as well as his loyal friends and champions across the years. Men like Adrian Whitehouse and Jim Blake. Also, those loyal and devoted fans who are continuing to champion Geoff to this day.

A special thank you to the other fans and collectors who have generously sent me copies of this and other audio so that I may share it with you in my videos devoted to the preservation of the legacy of composer GEOFF GODDARD.

This video is dedicated to every Geoff Goddard fan.

Geoff Goddard, composer, 19 November 1937 - 15 May 2000.

  • This sounds very familiar! I honestly thought this was recorded in the very early 60s :-O

Very nice video too, Well Done Skywoman63!

  • @RaeVon1958 The confusion over Geoff's unofficial releases comes down to sloppy, inconsistent efforts on the the part of those who have promoted his work in the past. We appreciate anything they did actually achieve, but Geoff has been very poorly represented overall, and the preservation of his work has clearly not been enough of a priority to those who have represented him in the past.. Part of our mandate is to correct the lassitude & errors of the old guard. Thanks for your nice remark! ♥

  • Nice remember !

  • R.I.P Geoff Goddard !, i'm sure nyou are joe are skymen now

  • @Skywoman63 it's a remarkable task, this you've taken upon. for once i am very, very glad to see people investing their kind efforts to make rightful justice to the work of such a fantastic composer. I believe time hasn't done anything but embellish his output, thus, it's key to raise awerness of it in the proper circles. I try to do this very thing in my home land, argentina. greetings from here, and please keep at it -this is necessary!

  • Brilliant !

even through the distortion of this recording and the patina of time

we can clearly hear the great melody and wistfullness of Geoffs song and

    beautifully played of course

very interesting to hear this un-meeked version -- great upload

  • An incredible achievement on the part of Jim Blake. Geoff did not readily take people into his confidence. The legendary Jim Blake '74 sessions are priceless musical heirlooms. It's unfortunate these recordings have been either kept under wraps, or misrepresented. This poor representation of Goddard, and this lack of proper credit to Jim Blake, is something that Geoff's fans are working to remedy in the present time.
