Listen to the wonderful performance of this masterpiece of music and forget all the problems of the past and present :D

  • Look at place and date of recording and imagine who's in the audience...

  • @piesseesse what is the difference between allegro non troppo and moderato?

  • A good performance expecially by Fischer. The pace of Furt is not "allegro non troppo" but "moderato" and often "andante" or "adagio", with some little explosions and several sleeps. This is a modified Brahms, perhaps pleasant (here and there) but modified.

  • Viva Furtwängler! Such power, such poetry, such an amazing sense of rubato and urgency...all of it combined into an indescribable result that defies imitation.

  • There are good recordings from this piace but this is truly exceptional. Absolutely perfect.

  • the most wonderful Brahms I ever heard.

Fischer & Furtwangler, a dream of two great Artists !
