OK..I'm not saying that you have to, but they did run a demo school, and South was a graduate and that's why he was flying. Everyone in 21 knew that had Grizzly (LT Adams) been around, he'd have been a superior choice. NO-DOZ (LCDR Pollard) was also known to put on some decent shows when we were FCLP'ing in Iwo, too.

Umm...yes. You do. Perhaps they had stricter rules when we were in Japan. But CDR South WAS our only demo-qualled pilot, thus that's why he's flying. What you don't see is the inner STBD side AUX engine door corner coming off.

That should be LCDR Jerry South flying for VF-21. He was our only demonstration-qualified pilot at the time.
