This was filmed this last weekend at the deer lease. Temperatures hit 33F and it rained the whole weekend. I was the only one who slept outside as everyone else was in a camper/trailer. I stayed dry and comfy. Next time I will lay my groundcloth/emergency blanket sideways and see how that works.

Tarp- Kelty Noah's Tarp 9
Groundcloth- Emergency Blanket from REI
Bivy- Rei Minimalist
Bag- Kelty Cosmic 50
Lantern- Black Diamond Orbit

  • Thanks for the feedback!

  • Good job. Do you think if you would have pitched you tarp closer to the ground, you would have had less splashing? And you're right about the Black Diamond Orbit, they're great.

  • @dunfamalb most definitely!

  • You caught me, LOL!

  • I use a 45 F. degree bag myself and find with a liner and clothing, it's a very versitile sleep system. I am surprised how wet your pad was, but I guess it was alright for that night. Thermalite makes a 15 F. and 25 F. degree liner that will dramatically increase the warmth of your bag. Can I recomend you add a good quality unbrella to your kit. It's great for being in the sun and would keep the splatter off of you in a rain like this, plus, when walking in the rain. Best to ya.

  • @slodeth5 Thanks! I didn't have my tarp pitched the best for this kind of weather, that's why there was so much water. Thanks for the tip! Happy Trails!
