The authors name is John Howard Payne, not Henry Rowley Bishop.

One of the most beautiful melodies ever.

Fantastic voice!I I've got a CD with this singer in Mahler's Symphonie Nr.2,it's a 1969 recording under Rafael Kubelik and with Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks.I loved the voice and the way it sounds.I'd love to know more about this interpreter.

What a beautiful voice. So controlled. Many versions of this old song are known of course, but Norma's version is no doubt one
of the most impressive ones. Her pianissimo
at the end is quality. Contralto Procter was born in 1928, so she should be around 80 by now. Bless her!! I wonder when this particular song was recorded. A Dutch admirer.
What a pretty voice !

I am trying to make other videos with her.
I have only a LP with her, not the best sound
quality.
