  • j frame?

  • Interesting the amount of pressure required. Its a very deep trigger pull. I found the video interesting, thanks for posting.

  • Pressure? I'm SLOWLY pulling the trigger to keep the revolver still

  • I just bought the 340pd is it as close to your as recoil goes?

  • No, not even close. The 640 is all stainless steel. The 340 is going to kick.

  • @TheOl1911 I have a Model 60 Smith. It's a J-Frame .357 and I shoot mine just fine. My hand doesn't even start getting sore till I get up over 70 rounds or so (if I'm not wearing my glove that is). You just got to have some wrist strength and a steady hand( not trying to insult you by the way). J-Frame .357s are awesome carry revolvers. They're small, easily concealed, and pack a punch.

  • I carry a 642 with 110gr+p and I use to own a 340pd and my god, that thing was difficult to shoot. the 340pd using 357mag had violent recoil. I tried my best w/practicing but I never did get that good at it. With the 642 I'm fine and the recoil is not bad at all. I don't think j-frame and 357mag mix well!

  • im gonna have to disagree with you guys I love the looks of the 640 I think its a great looking gun.

  • @buzzclark on the smith&wesson hammerless models there is no need to clean under the sidecover unless it gets submerged or buried in sand [ they are truly handy little guns] in which case you'll need to remove the sidecover screws then tap your screwdriver handle on the frame with the sidecover facing UP to loosen DO NOT PRY and be careful not to lose any small parts then clean normally. good luck i would recommend any of S&Ws fine snubs. deadeye

  • nice hamerless

  • @snyper105 so do i. i like the classic look and bought Smith & Wesson .38 Special Snub Nose Airweight after seeing the variations. it's safer but doesn't look that cool without the exposed hammer.

  • Shooting low level .357s ? Recoil didn't look that much different than how my 640 jumps when I shoot +P .38's. I haven't shot .357's in it yet.
