I think with enough people, the sheer energy of their belief can generate an egregore that is interpreted to be apparitions of whatever being(s) that group believes it to be. They may of generated manifistations of an egregore, or could of just be seeing things as a result of trying to stare up at the sun for too long... and being out in the hot, bright sun for too long can inspire hallucinations sometimes too, sort of like seeing a mirage.

As always, well said! *Blessed Be*

That would be in my country, even tho I've never been there.
And I couldn't agree more with you.
Another thing is that most roman catholic adepts in my country are, in fact, old or 50+, most of them didn't pass 4th grade. This means that religion was over cience, so this phenomenon would be likely to happen. Even today, people still claim to see these aparitions or sighs of the divine in that area.

you mentioned exactly what i was thinking , the salem witch trials, i do have a hard time beliving history when it is only from a childs mouth, religious mass hysteria is very very scary, and the thing with the sun, im the same as you again , im suprised they didnt go blind
i think i could go on all day about my opinions..... but i shall spare you :oD
