I know this may sound kinda odd, but maybe the killer whales (like pet cats usually do with rodents) purposely chased the penguin so it would jump into the boat, i.e. give the humans something to eat.... lol are killer whales that kinda kool?? no way that penguin would have escaped Orcas are way too efficient...

id be shitting myself if that penguin lead the killer whales near my boat and sat on the edge where they could see it... i was expecting the killer whale to jump and hit the boat where the penguin was lol

The little guy looks tired too. It's a good thing the folks on that boat didn't do any sudden moves to scare him back into the water. He had the time to catch his breath and maybe swim back to safety.
