  • What a gorgeous voice.. so well produced..

  • So sad at the news; one learns so much so fast at youtube! She was FEISTY! There is a famous photo of her at a big photo shoot of M-G-M Pictures stars and she got the phone call to come that morning with no chance at hair styling, makeup, whatever, showed up angry as Hell in her raincoat, never took it off and glowered at the camera. She was a great star, one of the greatest, who remained forever down-to-earth and practical. She was very beloved, God bless her.

  • @glawsny she does look good here but I would call her more 'cute' than beautiful. I never really liked her singing either but she was an effective star in the musical era. I always thought she'd have made a perfect snow white had they made a live action version. ;]

  • @ClassicsWEREandARE Time for your meds dear. "Not supposed to die..."

  • My mother went to hear Kathryn at the Latin Quarter supper club during this period of her engagement there. She was taken by her mother and grandmother. How fun to see this clip from summer of 1958. I also have a friend who was privileged to take a few private voice lessons with Ms. Grayson in the years prior to her passing.

  • Loved her in Kiss Me Kate with Howard Keel!

  • Nice to hear from someone who had known her personally and can support what many have felt from seeing and hearing her fine performances -that Kathryn was adored,a wonderful person and true to what everybody felt about her.How fortunate we are that so many of those lovely performances remain to be enjoyed for ever!

  • @kgarmaker123 They wanted her to do a tell all book about other stars. She refused. She only wanted to see the goodness in other people Eleanor Powell was easily the most popular person at the studio through 1945. That torch was passed to Kathlyn. She would rather be with the genuine blue collar workers who loved her! When raining 1 day arriving at the studio they put their coats on the ground so she would not get socked. Joan Crawford arrived the same time and they paid little attention.

  • @hajune What a wonderful thing to say about her. And since its true, it even sounds more sincere.

  • I love when Arlene asked imitating Kathryn´s false voice: "Do you sing?"
