Sega Dreamcast Arcade Stick Mod (Part 1/2)

It's time to start my little modding project on the official Dreamcast arcade stick. This piece of hardware is already awesome from the get-go, but I intend to improve it with better, micro-switched buttons and a new stick. The color scheme I have in mind goes along with the button colors on the standard Dreamcast gamepad, so it should look pretty elegant.

In this first part, I take a look at the parts I'm going to use and inside the arcade stick.

how do i get the green ball of the joystick?

I don't really like the buttons in my DC arcade stick so I'm going to switch them for micro switch Sanwa ones like you used. Can you recommend a good place to order them from in Europe?. I only need 6 black.

I am about to do this soon. So standard 30mm buttons do not fit? What tool would you recommend to widen metal plate? A dremel?
