Some of the "citta" town scenes of L'avventura were filmed it looks like in Ferrara,where my mother was born & grew up in the Mussolini 30's.There's a scene in Fellini's "Amarcord" where the ragazzi were throwing flowers in the street as Mussolini entered Ferrara. Mom was one of those flower girls. I believe "The Garden of the Finzi-Continis" also took place in Ferrara.
