Israel continues its intense bombardment of the territory as Israeli troops edge closer to the heart of Gaza City. Nearly 1,000 Palestinians have been killed, more than 4,400 injured, many of them women and children. Thirteen Israelis have died over the same period, 10 of them soldiers. We speak with Oxford professor Avi Shlaim. He served in the Israeli army in the mid-1960s and is widely regarded as one of the worlds leading authorities on the Israeli-Arab conflict.

Ya know they re-made the movie rollerball, but removed the whole essence of the original which now seems so prophetic for such a sci fi action movie. No more nations just corporations, right down to corporate anthems. And rollerball being used as tool to keep the masses asleep. How far of a leap is that to modern sport? Every major stadium around the globe has a corporate name, and that disturbs me greatly. IF there is a conspiracy all I can say is Kudos' well done. You have to admire it.

and can be dismissed as conspiracy theory i suppose. but a lot of people, through a lot of hard work, have been and always will, writing compelling arguments which have compelled me to share that belief.

my distaste for governments, corporate hegemony, and loss of individual liberties is my motivating factor....not a struggle for some far off land that i will never go to.

and one thing i notice more and more is corporate influence over government. the symbiotic relationship between the two protects the established power structure.

and this power structure...with their extremely powerful media apparatus is responsible for leading the masses to war when they otherwise would remain peaceful.

but i agree...so many reasons...none of them are good enough.

sometimes i cant believe it...but other times i think that we are so young as a species...

i believe we are moving out of the eras of dictatorships and despotic rule into the era of corporate ownership over the individual

general smedly butler once said "war is a racket." and i believe that to be true. i dont believe people love mayhem as much as they love $. but there is $ to be made when there is mayhem. selling arms, rebuilding what you blew up, all profitable to banks and corporations
