Frydery Chopin (1810-1849)

Canon in f minor (1839)

The only survived part of his Canon in f minor. This fragment is always missing from many "Chopin complete piano works" recordings.
.
He used that Theme in his Cello Sonata, op.65.

Alessandra Ammara, piano

  • Thanks for uploading this.

  • Where is the picture of the statue located ????

  • This piece almost represents Chopin's life. Short, and fragmented (Chopin died at an age where he had so much great compositions that he never finished, or published in his lifetime).

  • It's like listening to a canon from Clementi's Gradus ad Parnassum, but transfigured by the light of Genius

  • Is this Allesandra's channel? I just read a good review in the Gramophone of het ARTS Chopin cd. Is this from that cd?

  • Dear Allesandra, thanks a lot. It is very beautiful. This is cerainly a late work, with deeper left hand melodies. At the end of his life, Chopin played a lot with his friend and cellist Auguste Franchomme.
