  • Another comment: I always thought the ending of Bromberg's version was just something he added on (and that I loved). You label it as "Runaway." Would you give me the history of Runaway....who wrote it, how it happened that David added it to New Lee Highway Blues? Thanks!

  • David wrote the "New" Lee Highway Blues. The fiddle tune at the end is called "Lee Highway Blues", which obviously inspired his title. One of the best performances of this traditional fiddle tune was by Scotty Stoneman, who really played up the "on the road" effects, which the Bromberg band took to another level, if you ever saw them do it live.

  • This is my FAVORITE David Bromberg tune, and you folks do a very nice version of it. Did Bromberg write this? (I could look on my album but who knows where in this house it is.) Anyhow - great job!!
