Caressing the statue of a dead man is very different from worshipping a false God or deity. For instance, I know that the dead man has no power but through God as opposed to a pagan God who would have power in and of his or herself. That's the key difference.

Catholicism isn't ONLY based in the Bible. Being the Church the Apostles started it has maintained TRADITION that is used as well as the Bible.

I don't think it's all nonsnense. I think that the Bible speaks the truth, the new and old. And just to let you know Jesus didn't agree with killing prostitutes and throwing pregnant wives out into the cold. He said that as long as they repented to God MEN could not do any harm towards them, he also said 'Treat others as you would like to be treated'. And something else, God put Jesus on this earth to STOP that nonsense so, before you say anymore, you should read between the lines of the Bible.

Don't despise the use of icons. They are not a form of idolatry

@EdClaude1 , The Rapture is declared by the Eternal King, The Lord, Jesus Christ. Are you saying you know more than the eternal Lord? Are you calling the Most High a liar?

I pity those that don't tremble before the Word of the Lord. Every Biblical prophesy of the Lord's return will be fulfilled within the next 505 days. Yet, those in spiritual darkness, love the dark. For in darkness, they think they control their destiny. Those of your kind will be forever destroyed in less than 17 months.

There are no statues of Christ worshipped in the Bible. All of the essential New Testament doctrines are contained in the Old Testament. attacks against what some so-called Christians have don after the Bible was written is almost irrelevant. Christian teaching found in the Bible. How much time have you spent reading and attempting to understand the bible? It is the single most influential book about the single most influential person in history, it is worth your time to study.

Ok, so those statues of Christ in churches bleeding out like a pig are just there for decoration?
And yeah, I have studied the bible, since most Christians tend to believe others don't understand their religion, I grew up in a Catholic home and went to church every Sunday as a child, and thought it was all nonsense. And yes, the Old Testament seems like exactly what we should do. Throw pregnant wives out in the cold and murder prostitutes we pay for. How wonderful.

Most people generally don't know the Bible at all, they may know a few doctrines of Christianity, but be hard pressed to state something as simple as the basic history of redemption outlined in the Bible.

Catholicism is certainly nonsense, but Catholicism is not Biblical Christianity and it shows you don't have a solid understanding of theology by associating it with what the Bibles teaches.

Also just because someone does something in the bible does not mean it is condoned.

This whole conversation you have had a biligerent attitude. You cannot ever to expect to properly understand Christianity like that. If you have objections state them reasonably, and attempt to understand the mine rather than give snide remarks and sweeping generalizations.
There are difficuties in the Bible and it is only to my benefit to learn of them and resolve them.

As for an age with all answers, there is still no accepted theory for the origin of life or the universe.

The statues and icons are there for a reminder, like a glimpse into Heaven (or what we believe Heaven to be).

As for your other comments, there is such a thing as faith AND reason. Not just faith, but faith and reason, thus making it possible to interpret the Bible through the eyes of modernity.
