  • I'm sorry, but if you are going to interest newcomers into using linux, stop showing a distribution which looks just about as sexy as Windows 95.

When I see my boss using KDE4 with compositing enabled, I feel like I want that on my pc too. I don't have that feeling now..

It's not a bad video though. Da Vinci looks pretty cool, and the editing is pretty nifty as well.

  • if davinci used linux, it would replace windows and mac overnight cuz he would make a kickass distro

  • i think this video could have used a little more editing but still a good concept and it was made decently well. as for people saying to make the desktop look better, i disagree. people who put visuals above functionality shouldn't be using the os. just because linux can look the best it doesn't mean it should

keep in mind everybody, almost every linux noob out there that asks a million stupid questions are the people who went to linux for its visuals, and security. we don't need more of them

  • How about..

"What if unknown painter John Smith had used Linux?" ... cue in this commercial (with some edits).

Is this commercial licensed like FOSS so that the community can take it and contribute to it?

  • :-D That looks like it could earn the award for the best promotional video for GNU+Linux ...

  • Nice :).

  • lol, that's a good one! :D
