In his Regina Coeli address in St Peters Square on Pentecost Sunday, Pope Benedict spoke of the Holy Spirit as being the soul of the Church. He said that without the Holy Spirit the Church would have been reduced to a large historical movement, perhaps a humanitarian kind of agency.
