Going by the Truss rod cover and the covers on the back of head it is a fake Sg. The knobs aren't right... I found one like this at the local pawn shop and it screamed made in China all over it...
why would anyone fake an epiphone sg as the cheapest of them cost only 129 euros. thats maybe 150 dollars. only the more expensive epiphones sound good. The rest is just cheap chinese plywood crap
This looks like a Epiphone G-310 model. From the pictures here I would say it is genuine. Like previous comments, Epiphone is a branch of the Gibson Corporation so there is no license infringement. While the G-400 and the actual Gibson SG have a set net, but the G-310 is indeed a bolt-on model. Also, I doubt that Guitar Center would sell a counterfit because of legal liability.
@kurtjohngarcia Epiphones aren't authorized copies of Gibson, they are the same company. Gibson produces guitars under their Epiphone brand name. Epiphone doesn't need to get authorization from Gibson, nor do they need a licensing contract, nor do they pay Gibson any licensing fees. So I guess you can say Gibson is copying themself.
