Someone asked where the bass player is. Well, he is sitting at the keyboards. Ray Manzarek worked the foot pedals of the organ in concert. The Doors would often use a bass guitar session man in the studio. In concert while out on the road, Manzarek was the bass man. Pretty impressive I say.

@dnltsn Ray Manzarek, the keyboard player, actually worked the bass notes you are hearing with the foot pedals of the organ. In the studio, The Doors often used a bass guitar player, like Doug Lubahn from the group Clear Light. In concert, Manzarek was the bass man on the pedals. Now you know.

No one ever believes me, but I have a backstage bootleg with Jim Morrison talking with Robert Plant & Jimmy Page in May 1971 right before a performance in Liverpool, England. The clip lasts about 15 minutes, and at one point Jim even picks up Page's 59' les paul. Very interesting conversation; especially considering it took place 2 months before Jim Died.
