Video demonstrating the controls of the Orion H3X camera gimbal. Please note that this flight control uses the standard 5V regulator to power the servos. With the 6.5V regulator performance and speed will increase.

This is an older prototype platform, there has been improvements since it was built. On the newer ones the wires run inside the frame which makes it much neater in appearance. Also, the camera can be moved up or down for better center of gravity positioning and the tray for the Mikrokopter flight controller has been modified to better protect the circuit board.

  • Now all you have to do is mount two kenyond gyros to stop the helicopters massive shake and youll be there ;-)

  • @TheSecretVault

What shakes? It smooth as butter :)

Never heard of "kenyond" gyros before. There is a manufacturer called Kenyon, maybe that's what you meant.

Also, gyros won't solve any shake or vibrations problems.

  • Actually scratch the above I see you are using an electric hexacopter which like the rest do suffer from subtle but visible skittish yaw pans and tilts. This is entry level gryo stuff which is ok in low wind situations and close to the ground. What I was talking about is high end pro stuff where you need gyros because you dont want a flutter or wobble in any shot and taking 10 or 20 go's isnt an option. Check out CineFlex for a gyro stabilised head with remote pan/tilt the big boys use.

  • @truthseekers666

Cineflex do amazing stuff. However, there is a huge part of the market that are not willing to pay the rates that they are charging. We have done work for companies that have been considering to use Cineflex but decided to go with our cheaper alternative and were very satisfied.

Like you say, this type of platform is more sensitive to strong winds - however we seldom need more than a few takes to get it.

  • Wow, the controls look very smooth. Is this for sale, or do you have a website? I'm trying to compare camera mounts and really interested in this one

  • Thanks! :)

Yes, you can purchase it from us. Please visit rotorview.se for more info.

  • A sling and 3k to trash...

  • How do you use Fat Shark on a DSLR? You use Fat Shark right?

  • @RotorView If you heli doesnt shake around your one of the only people ive met in the RC world who has one. Can we see some shots taken from it. Also why do you think Kenyon sell Gyros - because they seem cool. Its because they stop movement in the camera caused by shakes/vibration. This keeps the camera locked on the same spot, hence smooth shots. Are you saying you can just fly around and get perfect shots most of the time with no dampeners/gyros. I want to see this.

  • why that music? senseless

  • How much?

  • Amazing creation! This is the most awesome thing I've seen in a while. I'll be contacting you directly through your site.
