A slideshow about the adorable Greenbush twins, who played Carrie Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie! I wasn't really sure what song to use, but I think this one suits them well. :) Credit to zunshine.com for the pictures!

  • Did Sydney greenbush play Carrie's little imaginary friend in one of the episodes?

  • @schnauzerlover1496 they actually both switched back and forth from both roles (Carrie and the imaginary friend) in that episode. One of them said in an interview that originally, they were each going to play one character but they both wanted to play the imaginary friend, so they ended up just splitting the roles :)

  • Are the Greenbush twins related to actor Billy Greenbush?

  • @COMING4U Yes, he is their father

  • Was it twins that played Grace, too?

  • @babylover0990 Yep, they hired twins for all of the parts that were played by babies and small children. Grace was played by twins named Wendi and Brenda Turnbaugh. Laura's daughter Rose was played by twins also, I believe their names were Jennifer and Michelle Steffin.

  • That's funny! I didn't know that part was played by twins either. I always thought that Lindsay Sidney Greenbush was a weird name. I recently told my hubby that I would never have put those names together for my child! That explains it now though!

  • Forget the Oleson twins, the Greenbush twins are better. They portrayed Carrie Ingalls well. As I remember Carrie was not a really pivotal character in the books either. It's great to see images of the two of them as they grew up. If I had to equate myself to a character on LHOTP, I'd be a mix of Laura and Carrie, about 70% Carrie, to 30% Laura.

  • i never new till i cicked on this so thats amazing they thought we did not know that they were sis but i know now thank u for reading this bye bye now.

  • @judithbarsifan Actually I think I meant to say that they must of wanted the Carrie character, to be a little on the slow side for some reason, I did not mean to say the girls are midly retarded, sorry for the confusion..

  • @catlover75 when did she play a mildly retarded person?

  • One sister is light chestnut haired and the other one is brown. One is taller than the other and one has a thin face whereas her sister has a larger one.You can distinguish them.

  • These twins Sidney and Lindsay Greenbush were just adorable but in the series the role of Carrie is very shallow.Carrie was beautiful in the series but talked not often and acted in a childish way even at 8 or 10.In Laura Ingalls Wilder's books, real Carrie was very close to Laura and they had conversations sometimes. In the series they never had conversations! It is very far from real Laura's youth.

  • I knew they have to be twins!! But on the intro they put their names all together!Because of that I thought it was only one child acting ¬¬... but I know that young child character has to be played by twins because of the hours they spend shooting.

  • @TejMulen I agree. I loved Little House On The Prairie, but I aways thought Carrie was a waste of space. A plank of wood in a dress could have acted the part as well (or possibly better) than those two.
