  • This is a part of the original "Transatlantic Sessions".

    After much struggle:

    IT'S AVIABLE ON DVD AGAIN!!!

  • Actually this is not from Transatlantic Sessions which was from 1996. This clip is from an earlier BBC project 'Bringing It All Back Home' and was filmed at Jack Clements' studio in Nashville in February 1990.

    Laurie

  • Thanks Laurie. Again and again.

    Love this.

    Who the musicians are?

  • The musicians are Pat Crowley (accordian), Liam O'Flynn and Davy Spillane (uileann pipes), Roy Huskey Jnr (bass), Mark O'Connor (fiddle).

It was recorded for the BBC documentary 'Bringing It All Back Home' in February 1990.

  • Just once in a while we hear a magical moment in music, this is one of those times, what a beautiful song, what beautiful singers. Greetings from Ireland.

  • This reminds me of my beautiful mother. She was always singing it. Sonny is one of those songs that reminds me of who I am and where I come from.

  • What I wouldn't give for a full album from the three of them.

  • the celts are not the only fighting race!

and the irish are not the only celts.

check it all out on any celtic nationalism website.

  • WOW, My GOD,.. No offence to Ennoylou, or Mary, but my heart misses a beat when Delores sings just one note. Delores if you want a husband or something, I'm available. Absolutely Beautiful Music..........

  • Dolores was a national treasure

  • Ron Hynes, wrote this song and forever made a piece of history.

  • KEY OF G, easy basic chord changes. Jump in any time. Plunk along. COMPASSIONTE HINT: Turn your volume up to max so you won't have to hear the sound of your own vocal

  • a great Newfoundland song.....so happy the Irish like it

  • IF R.T.E. RADIO AND T.V. WERE TO RUMMAGE THROUGH ITS VAULTS, THEY WOULD HAVE SO MUCH TO GIVE TO US ON D.V.D.s. BUT THAT MIGHT TAKE INTELLIGENCE, EDUCATION.

  • Three sisters of song.

  • This is as near perfection as you can get - pure bliss, but Emmylou and Mary singing "Green Rolling Hills" is the nearest thing to heaven that I know. Sorry, couldn't resist that! ;-)
