To raise the GoPro above the blades can you try a Styrofoam cup or empty aluminum can taped on.

Nicely done, you are the first person I have seen to actually position a ardrone and capture a meaningful piece of video from that platform. very cool. one suggestion, the GoPro shoot wide format, you uploaded it truncated, might be worth filling the screen with that for a even better image.
