  • how do you get live steam or do you get that with the set ?? /flying scotsman train set

  • Hello Sammy,

There is a small steam plant inside the loco, a boiler and super heater and the wheels are steam driven with two pistons. The water is heated by electrical power taken from the tracks. So real steam is exhausted out of the chimney.

I've several other videos on YouTube you might to see.

    Hope this helps,

    Eric

  • isnt it going a bit too fast? can you make it go slower at all? or does it only go that speed when its lve steam? email me the answer please. thanks.

  • @Tirionblade Hello.

The speed can be controlled and you can get it run very slow. There is a steam valve which can be signalled to open and close to control the speed. The system needs a special controller that comes with the set or you can buy separately.

There are more videos I've loaded up where you can see this.

    Hope this helps,

    Eric
