and with that said, I take the freedom to speculate that the video for Royksopp's "This Must Be It" (also directed by Andreas Nilsson and with Karin singing) could be a sequel to this one. After the surviving people re-establish tribal communities of their own..... and then some old dude comes in in a crazy drumset car and shows them how awesome it is to have such a thing :D
I don't think there is one. I mean, mystery is a major part of the whole Fever Ray production. If it were all outright explained it just wouldn't be Fever Ray.... use your imagination! I think the speculations bellow are just as valid as any "official" explanation would be.
Does anyone know if this video was ever properly explained? I realize it is great to speculate, but I really want to know the true meaning behind it. I also see some great possible answers in earlier comments.
We are all a part of the "extravagant mansion". No one lives a humble life with nature except those in brasil or africa and even then they war with neighboring tribes so really human nature is the problem. How can we co-exist peacefully? And in doing so how can we control our population growth as a result of unchecked reproduction? (which is disatrous to the environment) So many people like to point the finger "its their fault, or its their fault" but in reality it is OUR fault.
The other day, I was sitting in a car and a policeman drove by excruciatingly slowly and shone a floodlight into my car. It reminded me of the moment in this video when the children are in the boat and the islanders in their elaborate vestments shine their lights in the kids' eyes. The dog is like a canine unit. The outfits represent the police uniform.
Fantastic Analagy because of your comment this vid is now a Favorite so i can show everyone i know about your comment dude your going to be the person one day that has all the answers. Cheers!!!
why were you just sitting in a car? do you look suspicious? (dont kid yourself..DO you or DO you not look suspicious?) for example: in america we have rap music which promotes many of the bad elements in our society, therefore if you look like them you resultingly look like you promote those elements. Think about the definition of camouflage in a modern world and execute it accordingly if you dont wat to be "harassed".
