This is my customized ERTL model of Richard (renamed from Alaric in the 1970s) made from my old ERTL model of Thomas. This engine No.7 of the Culdee Fell Mountain Railway. Originally purple with orange lining, Richard was repainted red and black to match the livery-style of the engines on the Snowdon Mountain Railway.

Came to the railway the same time as Lord Harry and Eric, Richard is a nice quiet engine, who is quite shy deep inside his boiler. Richard works very hard, but his superheater isn't quite reliable so he oftens run low on steam and energy. Despite this, Richard never uses this problem as an excuse not to do any work.
