While spending some time in Vienna with Bosendorfer, it came to our attention that an Imperial was just being completed with a custom installation of a CEUS system. We spent the morning with the technician who was doing final adjustments to the system. When he was done, he gave us a brief demonstration for this video.

This piano found it's way to our showroom a few months later!

  • Are these still being produced in the Bosendorfer factory in Vienna? Or has Yamaha taken over the manufactoring too? Will someone please let me know?

    I thank you.

  • @IllIIllIIIlIIIlI Of course. The Yamaha Corporation has a huge respect for the brand of Bosendorfer and at my last visit, had not disturbed their process at all. Thank you for the comment.

  • Holey moley. That's amazing.

  • @biggyzoom - I am amazed even now and it has been some time since I actually played that piano. :-)

  • It is finally here !!! Wow.....JUST AMAZING !!

  • That looks... expensive. But it's amazing.

  • play salieri

  • how much is ceus sytem to be installed on any piano??

  • now can it play the circus galop

  • @xbox7888iscool Some are really quite large...but the strings do get in the way...

  • @virginiaorganbuilder but you can't live in a piano!

  • @afertyus1000 Well - when I think about it, maybe if you were able to listen to all these performances live, it would take away from live performances today? Most artists today have their music pirated, let's be honest. They make their money mainly from live performances. This concept would possibly allow live performances to eventually be emulated and therefore have less of a need to see live performances (obi it's never the same). That's got me thinking :P

  • @afertyus1000 Oh yes, I agree with you about the incremental upgrade not scaling properly cost vs what you get. It's like buying a pair of headphones. Spend £5 and chances are they will not be very good. Then spend £35 or around that and you get something descent. But anything over £50, you usually find that the difference between £50 and £100 isn't THAT much. Even moreso with £200 vs £400, the difference is little. So I understand your concept.

  • @CooCurrent yes i understand where you are coming from if a person has enough money to go round they most likely pay the extra but i compare it to a good restaurant, you pay a lot of money for good food and service then incrementally the service etc doesn't get THAT much better if you pay a very high price in an exclusive one,a problem with people today is they want it now but aren't prepared to put the work in, when in actual fact [as we are both pianists] it is satisfying in itself [practice]
