Killer Cone Snail Eats Fish

This is something rarely seen by humans. A deadly cone snail envenomating and eating a fish. The mouth on these snails is HUGE. They can encompass fish larger than their shells. Most cones prefer to eat other snails but there are some not so picky. This was filmed by invitation, at UH Manoa, on O'ahu, Hawaii. Dr. JP Bingham is the professor you will see talking at the end of the video. Mike Ogata is the videographer and you also hear my voice in the background interviewing the professor. Grad student feeds the snail. Cone snail venom can now be synthetically reproduced and used as medicine (heart patients and for pain). See: PRIALT
