'CMW Presents' is the organizational wing of the Contemporary Music Workshop (CMW).
CMW is an important part of James Dillon's pedagogical practice at the School of Music, University of Minnesota.
The CMW grew out of Dillon's 2007 Orchestration class during his first year of teaching at the university, jointly founded with the pianist Noriko Kawai who was a visiting professor at UMN between 2007 and 2011. The CMW since 2007 has organized and performed concerts, lectures and masterclasses, including many world and regional premieres and has extended invitations to some of today's most exciting performers of contemporary art music.
