When relying totally on solar/wind power it is not feasable to run a conventional AC unit, but an evaporative cooler can be useful alternative in a grid down scenario. Today though was no scenario, and the cooler did it's job nicely keeping the house a comfortable 79F, when the outside heat index was around 100F. Evaporative coolers work best in hot enviroments where humidty is not a problem. I live in NW Missouri, and the unit functioned great!
Nice setup. Keeping cool is more complicated than staying warm. Thanks for sharing.
