Bought the "2001: A Space Odyssey" soundtrack back in '99. STILL one of my all time faves. Now the Gayane Ballet Suite is a fave in my youtube channel. Haunting.

Still have two LP's that I purchased back in 1970 when I was but seven years old.

A truly soul moving piece. The producers of the second Aliens movie would have done well to use the original in the movie. The score used in the movie, well, was less than mediocre in comparison and, in my humble opinion, did not invoke the feeling desired for the scene in which it was employed. In short, it sucked.

@sn95mustang Indeed. Mr.Horner seems to make a fair living out of borrowing other how shall I put it genuine serious composers. His Aliens score might also like to inc. Richard Strauss as associate composer along with Aram himself.
