This is a school project made by me and three friends.
The robot is built using the Lego Mindstorms kit and is able to balance like a Segway with the help of the light sensor and two motors. Commands like "go forward" and "calibrate reference angle" are initiated using the ultra sound sensor.
If you listen carefully you might hear a few beeps - they are only for debugging.

    but!!! how do you use a light sensor to balance?

  • It's pretty easy actually. All you need is a solid colored and even lit surface. This is because the light sensor detects how much light that is reflected.

    When the sensor is close to the surface, more light from the LED is reflected back into the sensor. This probably means that the robot is leaning forward. (you need to set a reference value where the robot is upright)
