http://www.unctv.org Rob Holliday introduces us to plasticulture, a new technique being used to grow produce in non-traditional soils and areas of the state. Rob talks with farmers who have been trying it and agriculture officials to find out how it works and the results they've had so far. Agro-nomists say diversity in growing produce is important to being successful. They say if farmers grow several different crops, they will hopefully have at least one crop with a good market when demand for their other crops is down. They also say a good soil test before planting is critical. http://www.unctv.org
