Preloader IS A GOD SEND you NEED IT and should try to install bootmii as boot2 and do starfall/starpatch as well before even thinking about FLASHING wads or CSM files (channels and menu themes) As far as themes for GX this is fully safe to do regardless of brick recovery apps because it holds NO RISK of bricking AT ALL...

Menu themes however DO so go to Wadder dotnet and read there WIKI on MyMenu and MyMenuify they teach you to compile and install system menu themes also your 1tb will do fine.

that particular one is my SMALLEST external a western digital passport...I have a 1000 gig my book essentials usb drive i got at walmart for just 109$ everyday price 2!
