As the preseason favorite to win the Muskingum Valley League this season, Maysville knew it would get everyones best shot every time out.
Sheridan was no exception.
Still very much in the league championship picture, the Generals overcame an eight-point halftime deficit to escape South Zanesville with a 46-42 win and improve to 5-2 in MVL play and 5-5 overall. The setback dropped the Panthers in the standings with a 5-3 league record and 6-5 mark overall.
Brett Jackson scored 14 points for Sheridan, while Brian Crader put up 12 and sophomore Troy Sweeney 11.
Senior Eastin Lewellen dropped a team-high 17 points to go with seven rebounds. Junior Max Huddleston added 16 points and nine rebounds for the hosts.
