Jack Brooks is a man who has anger issues which stem from his childhood (his entire family was killed by a monster), and for a while, before the freaks show up, you get to see what he is like as an adult. It's genius. As for all these people who bitch about monsters showing up so late, From Dusk Till Dawn didn't have vampires until 60 minutes in and it still worked. Why? Because the lead characters were interesting enough to carry the film before the action. Just as Jack Brooks is.

This was the funnest movie I'd seen on television in a while. Trust me, guys, its looks cheesy because it's not afraid to be cheesy. It's very much in the vein of Evil Dead II, it's crazy, it's awesome, it's slightly grotesque. Worth watching.
