I was a Cockburn nut growing up many moons ago, still am. What a wonderful artist. Truly a Canadian treasure.

this song brings me back to the ocean and the country in the 70's and 80's just before college things were so hopeful and new back then and God was everywhere

Drop D. It's in an older BD Guitar book, and I learned it from that. Then you just have to play it to make your own.

I'd love to try this out on guitar but can't find the chords online. (I'm not so good at picking them out..)
Can anyone help me with this?

I think you'd need tablature (tab) rather than chords to do it properly. I found it in a songbook and did it years ago, but not sure if findable online. Also likely an alternate tuning if I recall, but it's been a while.
Cheers!

That was in Pacific Spirit Park, in Vancouver near the UBC campus. Over 40Km of walking trails.
