Serpentine Love (How Snakes Have Sex)

Here is my Vipera ammodytes male trying to mate with my Vipera xanthina female. Hemipenis is clearly visible towards the end of the video.

My original intention was to use V.ammodytes male to excite my V.xanthina male so that he could breed my other two Vipera xanthina girls, however my possible male turned out to be a female and now I have three Vipera xanthina and a male Vipera ammodytes. The male was so anxious for some action so I am letting him try to breed the V.xanthinas. As far as I am aware, there are no
xanthina X ammodytes hybrids around so I do not know if the breeding attempt will be successful. The females do not look really interested anyway. Time will tell...

Ureme sezonu dolayisiyla engerekleri ayni kafese koydum. Plan su idi: 2 disi V.xanthina vardi, 1 de erkek. 1 de erkek V.ammodytes var. Amac erkeklerin kavga etmesi, kucuk olan V.ammodytes'in kaybetmesi ve kafesten cikarilmasiydi. Bu kavga sayesinde obur erkek ciftlesmeye hazir olacakti. Fakat buyuk bir sok ile farkettim ki erkek sandigim V.xanthina da disi! Simdi kafeste durduklarinin 2. gununda zavalli kucuk erkek V.ammodytes kendi turunden olmayan uc disi engeregi dollemeye calisiyor .

Olabilecekler:

a- V.ammodytes ugrasacak didinecek ama ilgisiz gozuken V.xanthina lar ciftlesmeyecek. Fakat seks durtusunden kurtulan kucuk erkek tekrar yemek yemege baslayacak.

b- V.xanthina lardan birisi tecavuzu kacinilmasza zevk almaya bak dusturune gore haraket edecek, ciftlesme gerceklesecek fakat farkli turler oldugundan dollenme gerceklesmeyecek.

c-V.xanthina lardan birisi tecavuzu kacinilmasza zevk almaya bak dusturune gore haraket edecek, ciftlesme gerceklesecek, farkli turler olmasina ragmen dollenme gerceklesecek ve henuz hic uretilmemis bir hybrid tur ortaya cikacak.

Bekleyip gorelim ama videodan da goruldugu gibi kucuk ammo iyi calisiyor.

Not:

Vipera xanthina: Osmanli engeregi, seritli engerek.
Vipera ammodytes: Burnu boynuzlu engerek, sand nehri engeregi.
