whenever I've got myself into a bad situation I always hear his lyrics "all's not well in my private circle of hell" , then look down and " I contemplate my navel hair" .. such an awesome song on all levels.

This is my favourite Divine Comedy song ever, I nicked my band's name from the lyrics. Although, you know, I'm well aware that "the Death of Me" precedes the song as a turn of phrase

This is my favourite DC song: a witty take on self-loathing/existential angst with a healthy dollop of irony/self-parody which prevents it from sounding self-indulgent.
