New York City and the rest of the east coast were hit with a nasty crippling blizzard the day after Christmas 2010. This is how it looked just after the snow started to fall around 11am. The visibility was getting poor to the point where the skyline was completely missing an hour later. Bizarrely, there were also some lightning flashes and thunder during the early evening -- thundersnow -- uncharacteristic of winter storms -- I thought I was seeing and hearing things, but news reports confirmed it! And there were also high winds just short of hurricane speed according to the weatherman. Pity the poor travelers on Amtrak and those trying to catch flights, as trains and planes came to a standstill. Glad to be inside during this mess!
i remeber that day i went outside at like 9:00 pm during the storm and every few minutes the storm would heavy so much you coudlnt see
