Then said Jesus unto him, Begone, Satan: for it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.
(Mat 4:10)

I'm convinced that many in the modern American church would very much like to have dyslexia so they could at least have a somewhat valid excuse to explain why they replace the phrase "Lord your God" with "your 'autonomous, well-liked, infallible' self".

Does humanism honor God? Does self-esteem? Does Joel Osteen sell books? What truly honors God may not be the same thing that will sell a lot of a businessman's books at Barnes and Nobles. J. Gresham Machen wrote, "So it always is: a low view of law always brings legalism in religion; a high view of law makes a man a seeker after grace." It holds true when one examines what Osteen is giving in his seminars and what Washer is preaching in the pulpit. The contrast is obvious.

  • Paul Washer God Bless you and your ministry for standing "firm" on the unadulterated Word of God. While the majority of modern day church leaders pack "their-not God's church" with church members who desire to be entertained and taught feel-good, humanistic, motivational, doctrine of demons (1 Tim. 4:1) sermons, Mr. Paul Washer speaks biblical truth about God's commandments, precepts, and requirements and the repercussions of sin and the rewards of obedience. A joy to hear this godly man speak

  • @ ivaperic the bible does not say God hates the sin but love us,Psalm 5:5 therefore, the proud may not stand before your eyes you hate all evildoers.

  • @JustQuis afkors it' is! God hates sin but loves as ...amen!

  • The Bible even says that through faith we are saved Ephesians 2:8. The Bible says that we must also obey, becoming slaves of righteousness. I've heard PW recently preach from Matthew 7:21-23. This scripture makes it clear. How can I say I believe in Christ but have no regard for His law? These people prophesied and cast out demons in His name but were lawless. It is by Faith that we are saved but we must also obey GODs commands. I've heard Washer preach this.

  • @dogooda12 So is it not necessary to repent?

  • @JustQuis apostle paul said i am determined to know nothing else amongst you except for jesus christ and him crucified. that is the truth. PW say's salvation is through faith in christ alone but you must repent prior and subsequent to salvation. that is a contradiction. that is in complete contradiction to hebrews 10:1-18. salvation is through the cross of Jesus.that is the whole truth. everything else we do flows from that truth.

  • @dogooda12 I guess the initial comment you posted threw me off a little. Most of the time PW goes at the heads of other Ministers, Pastors, Evangelist for not preaching the truth in its entirety. I've learned a lot by staying in the Word of GOD and I've also learned a good bit from this mans teaching. I've never felt condemned by listening to him.

  • @JustQuis What I'm saying is this kind of preaching will illicit those kind of feelings unnecessarily. Especially for the believer who does not have a strong foundation of scriptural truth, the Gospel of grace, and his identity in Christ.

  • @dogooda12 I understand condemnation and conviction. The reason I ask is because the Bible says in Romans 8:1 that there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. I was just trying to figure out how someone could make you feel condemned.

  • @JustQuis Condemnation is the natural result of legalistic teaching. The Law is the ministry of death and condemnation as Paul said to the Corinthian church. The believer is convicted of righteousness according to the words of Jesus concerning the work of the Holy Spirit in John 16:8-11Salvation by works theology is not the Gospel which PW is a teacher of.
