@kylestyyle987 No, I think people underestimate Horns more because of their terrible accuracy. People remember great trumpeters like Dizzy and Louis Armstrong, but how many famous Horn players have you ever heard of? I think that Horns are underestimated, if anything.

@AsianSnowybrick Yes, it is hard to be accurate on a horn, but I think the point is that horn players can be accurate too. I know some fantastic horn players, I love to play with them, not everyone is brilliant at horn, but again, not everyone is brilliant at their instrument

@Dovakiin14 No, horns do have terrible accuracy. These guys are pros, of course, so they dont really emphasize how hard it is to switch between notes without screwing up. It requires loads more practice to be accurate on Horn then on, say, trumpet.

@AsianSnowybrick Terrible accuracy? I'm pretty sure these guys are pretty darn accurate. lol look at any major symphony in America and around the world. Accurate horn sections all around. with enough practice, Horn can be just as accurate as any other instrument there is. This is coming from a Horn student :)

@Diatonic7th I've been playing horn for almost 5 years. I played Bassoon as a second instrument for a little over a year and absolutely loved it. But it was easy to pick up. I'm gonna have to agree with AsianSnowybrick The fact that you can play any note on at least 3 fingerings makes precision extremely difficult if you're not very accustomed to it. For example, I can play a G on 6 different fingerings. 2 of those are the same fingerings as the most common fingering for the F and A around it.

@carfreakify Yes, your right. There is no such thing as an easy instrument (except maybe Saxophone, only took me a half hour to play advanced etudes.) However, there are instruments that are harder than others, abd i belive Horn takes 1st as the hardest instrument to play. Double reeds are truly quite a challenge, i just think that Horn is more so.
