Watch as Big Cat Rescue staff and volunteers neuter TJ the tiger. TJ was rescued from Savage Kingdom that was a well known breeding facility producing what we call "throw away tigers" so many tigers are born lame and cross eyed from the inbreeding that's required in order to produce white tigers. Whilst we were neutering TJ we took the opportunity to do a full examination of him which included taking blood for analysis and giving him an I.D microchip.

  • How do you keep the cats from chewing their surgery spots? I know you can't possibly put those big cones on these guys.

  • @FroIsPower Good question, with the smaller cats we have used E-collars and have monitored them while they were in the cat hospital while they were wearing them. But for the larger cats they would definitely destroy them and we would also run the risk of them ingesting some of the collar so we don't use them. We have to monitor the cats closely, give them lots of enrichment to keep them occupied also. But they are tigers and lions and are extremely tough so recover quickly :)

  • Why was Bella taken to a sterile environment, yet T.J.'s operation was on the ground?

  • @bagheerly Spaying a female tiger is a more invasive surgery so a sterile environment is needed, neutering TJ isn't an invasive procedure, it's quick and simple so if we don't have to remove the cats form their enclosures we don't :)

  • @resistence23 Please visit our website BigCatRescue*org and find out where we rescue these cats from and what our mission is before commenting on future videos, thank you :)

  • @marcon1259 Uniform :)

  • @Xpendable17 Our smallest tiger enclosure is 1200 sq feet and range all the way up to 3 acres! The smaller cage attached to his enclosure is just where we feed the cats and where they can find clean water 24/7 :) These cats cannot be part of any species survival plan so the best thing to do is neuter the cats, we do no breed cats for a life stuck in a cage.

  • oneginee you are so stupid that it hurts. This Tiger/s is not WILD and will never be.Big Cat Rescue saved him from people like you that wanted to breed them constantly and then they sell them or kill them for money or let them live rest of they're life in horrible condicion. China has Tiger farms do you prove them? Many get nothing but small chickens or bones to eat and are breed constantly and then they are killed. Blame the people who they rescued it from.

  • Do you like seeing Tigers behind bars kkkeeebbb? Tigers should not be breed in captivity and specielly not mixed breeds. What good will it do to just keep breeding them in captivity? So people like you can go watch them and take picture? I am shocked to release how some people here can't understand that he will never even tough we wanted him to be free in the wild because he would not survive there and he is a mixed breed.

  • You are really doing a great job. This Tiger would be dead very soon if he would be left out in the wild because he doesn't know how to hunt. Tiger cubs learn that from they're mother and it takes at least 20 months but most times like two years to learn how to survive in the wild. He would be no match for a wild Tiger or would simply die of hunger pretty soon. He is mixed breed to which means he should never be released in the wild and should never have cubs. Great job:D

  • Great job guys.

  • I see you followed the advice from the end of The Price is Right

  • 500 pounds of MURDER DEATHlol

  • @BigCatRescue It's good to hear the big guys you can't use collars on recover quickly! There's probably not an E-collar big enough for tigers anyway :P
