@AngelrStone no problem! let me know how it goes! i don't know how advanced you are now, so be sure that you can do these comfortably while elevating your feet and putting your body at the 90 degree angle before you decide to elevate your hands. not only does this closer emulate a handstand push up due to the angle of your back and shoulders, but elevating your hands with your feet on the floor as in the video would make a large, awkward arch, i think.

i do these with my feet elevated and heels touching. i try to make a 90 degree angle so that my legs are parallel to the floor and my torso/arms are perpendicular. i think this not only makes the exercise more intense but the simplicity of it makes it easier to keep proper form, as long as you have good body awareness and coordination.

I burst a blood vessel in my eye doing this, ugh

I recently injured my shoulder doing shoulder press with db, nothing serious fortunately, but I wanted to give my shoulder time to heal. So I started looking for alternatives to workout my shoulders without using free weights and looked for "body weight workouts" and found this kind of push ups. They are extremely challenging and put your shoulders in fire. I barely completed 10. If you are looking for a challenging exercise specifically to work your shoulders, this is it!!!

these use your shoulders like hell...thats why i luv em! :D

This looks like a great way to work up to building strength for handstands along with decline pushups and overhead dumbbell presses.
also if you do these with your hands elevated, be it with books or simply on your fingertips, you will extend the range of motion and will make the exercise even more intense, although not as intense as a handstand push up. these variations make this an excellent progressive exercise toward the handstand push up.

These are hella hard. But what do you think is harder? Pike pushups or handstand pushups?

@MistahFen Handstand pushups are MUCH harder! Probably 4x as hard as the pike pushups. Most people can't do one handstand pushup. If you can do them, you are very strong!
